Born in Somerset, raised in Dorset, living in Cornwall.

 

Wherever my nomadic wonderings have taken me, I’ve always found myself returning to the South West.

I guess a certain familiarity and comfort come from the surroundings you know best, maybe, more simply it’s just a great place to live.

 Certainly as a photographer you couldn’t ask for much more. The rugged coastlines blend into rolling meadows, scattered with quintessential, picture postcard villages. Be it a tiny harbour, jostling with boats, strewn with nets and rigging, bobbing gently in their protective enclaves. Or the remnants of a bygone era of Industrial growth as the stone skeletons of wheel house litter the countryside. Maybe even the shady remnants and clandestine tales of smugglers and their adventures.

Whatever it may be, it’s the place I call home.

 

My interest in Photography was captured at a young age thanks to my father. Many a bike rally was attended as a child, and the very first event I photographed was indeed a bike run. If only a photo could capture it all. The noises, smells, the vibrations.

And that has always been my goal when behind a camera.

 

I was once asked what's the best thing about being a photographer? Taking photographs, I thought. 

But it is more. It's allowed me to explore life, travel, meet many amazing people and see even more amazing things.

 It’s why I love taking photos.

Trying to capture more than just the scene in front of you. Freezing that moment in time, the feelings, emotions. The spectacle.

A photograph must be more than just a picture, it has to capture your imagination, take you to that very spot.. A camera is a tool, it will capture an image.

As a photographer I look to capture moments.
